Anyone interested in becoming a student at Canadian Chinese School of Theology Calgary must submit a complete application to the Admissions Office.  The Admissions Committee will consider applications upon receipt of the complete application, which includes:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. An Application Form<\/li>\n
  2. Salvation and Calling testimony<\/li>\n
  3. Pastoral and Academic\/Employer references<\/li>\n
  4. A complete collection of official transcripts from all previously attended educational institutions. An official transcript is one that bears the seal of the institution and\/or the signature of the issuing institution, or has been produced on the institution\u2019s secured paper.  Official transcript(s) must be received from all institutions at which the applicant previously attended or is currently attending.  The applicant is responsible for making arrangements whereby each institution mails the official transcript directly to the CCST Calgary Admissions Office.  CCST Calgary may consider require a graduation certificate from the institution if the transcript itself does not confirm graduation.  All applicants must submit all transcripts in English, or the transcript should be accompanied by a notarized English translation.  All submitted transcripts become the property of CCST Calgary and cannot be returned to the applicant.  Copies also cannot be provided.<\/li>\n
  5. Admissions applications may be completed and submitted via email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Application Fee<\/strong><\/p>\n

    For applicants from Canada or the United States, the fee to apply for admission is $50.  Applicants from outside Canada and the United States must submit the fee of $150 in order for the admissions application to be processed.  The fee to apply to CCST Calgary is non-refundable, will not be applied to tuition costs, and should be submitted in Canadian currency.  The fee may be paid by mailing a cheque, back draft or money order to CCST Calgary.  Should the applicant desire to pay the fee by wire transfer,  please contact the Financial Service by calling 587-968-8100 or by email to the Admissions Counsellor.  Please do not send cash.<\/p>\n

    Applications for fall enrolment after August 1 will be considered late and will be subject to an application fee of $100.  The same late fee will apply for applications for winter enrolment after December 1.<\/p>\n

    English Language Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not studied for three years in an English-speaking secondary or post-secondary institution (where English is the language of instruction and examinations are in English) must submit proof of English language proficiency by supplying their scores\/results of either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Testing System (IELTS).  Visit toefl.org or ielts.org for further information about these tests. Applicants who are not residents of Canada at the time of application must arrange to take the TOEFL\/Test of Written English (TWE) or IELTS in the country from which they are applying.<\/p>\n

    Admission Types<\/strong><\/p>\n

    All acceptances are valid for two years. Applicants may defer their initial enrolment at CCST Calgary without reapplying; however, the offer does not guarantee entrance into the program for which the applicant originally applied. After two years, the acceptance is invalid and a new application is required.<\/p>\n

    Official Admission<\/em><\/p>\n

    Official admission applies to applicants who have met all admission requirements set forth by CCST Calgary and are approved by the Admissions Committee.<\/p>\n

    Conditional Admission<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Applicants who have met most of the admission requirements set forth by CCST Calgary and demonstrate potential to succeed in graduate theological studies, but have not fully submitted all application requirements, may be conditionally admitted. In order to continue enrolment, students must satisfy the conditions of admission by the end of the first semester of enrolment.<\/p>\n

    Admission on Probation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Probationary status may be assigned on admission to students whom the Admissions Committee deems in need of academic support and monitoring. Further information is located in the Academic Policy section. Please note that meeting or exceeding minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission is preferentially based on the qualification of the students. Each applicant is evaluated individually, and the Admissions Committee must be satisfied that the student is ready for graduate-level studies.<\/p>\n

    Admission Appeals<\/strong><\/p>\n

    An applicant who has been denied admission to CCST Calgary may appeal to the Academic Committee in writing. The committee\u2019s decision is final. Upon receiving an unfavourable decision from the committee, the applicant may appeal to the Academic Dean on matters of process only.<\/p>\n
